Daisies!

Ok, so I have wanted to get Elizabeth into Daisies since she was born lol, so when I found out the only Girl Scout troop at her school was Brownies, I decided to become a leader. So far we have 5 girls, with several other maybes, so I think we will have a nice little troop of girls.

Elizabeth is SO excited, I don't know how, but she has already learned the Girl Scout Promise, and I have only told it to her a handful of times! She was so proud of herself, and I am so proud of her!

Right now I am doing all the paperwork for the girls, opening the bank account, and trying to recruit within the school. Our first meeting is on Sept 27th. I think I might be almost as excited as Elizabeth, I think this will be fun, as well as educational for me and the girls. I also managed to snag an assistant leader, so that is a relief.

Me

Ok, so I dyed my hair (again) and I needed a photo for something, and since I am not too upset with how the picture came out, here it is. :-) I am trying to lose weight again, so hopefully in a couple months I can update it with a better (read thinner lol) photo. I am actually borrowing an elliptical machine from my friend Nikki to see if I actually use it to exercise or as a clothes rack :-) I'll be cramming it in the bedroom, but we have a TV in there, so I can exercise and watch Buffy. I think I will use it. Now I just have to get it from her house to here somehow......

First day of Kindergarten!

Ok, So now Elizabeth is officially a kindergartener, Yipes! My little girl is growing up! We got her into a really great Montessori Charter school, and one of the great things about it, is that some of her friends from preschool are there as well, in fact about a third of the class are from her preschool, Elizabeth was thrilled. Since it is a charter school, she wears uniforms, but she thinks that is great, it means she is a kindergartener. Of course in a couple years when she realizes other kids get to wear what they want to school it may be a problem. :-)

I have to put in 40 hours of service to the school, but it is a free school, so I will take the hours. :-) Along with writing and reading etc, she will be learning Spanish on the Rosetta Stone software in the classroom. We had the choice between that and French or Chinese, but we figured she would use the spanish the most.

Here's a llama.....

One really cool thing about the fair was that they had a petting zoo. I have never seen a petting zoo with wallabies and deer before, but there they were!

State Fair

So we went to the state fair with David's company, ACM. It was pretty cool, we ended up with free tickets in, $40 in ride tickets and we won the grand prize raffle of a Video Ipod! That was especially cool, because a Video Ipod is one of those things that we really want, but would never actually buy. :-) We had a ton of fun at the fair, we saw exibits, rode on several rides, and ate food that was really bad for us lol. They had an awesome rainforest exibit, I think that was one of my favorites.
