Wow!

I can't get over this! I got this wonderful doll house for Elizabeth for free from a wonderful person on our local SCA yahoo group. I just can't express how wonderful this is, we are strapped for cash at the moment, and this takes care of christmas for sure!! I can't wait to give it to her!!!!

Daisies!

Ok, so I have wanted to get Elizabeth into Daisies since she was born lol, so when I found out the only Girl Scout troop at her school was Brownies, I decided to become a leader. So far we have 5 girls, with several other maybes, so I think we will have a nice little troop of girls.

Elizabeth is SO excited, I don't know how, but she has already learned the Girl Scout Promise, and I have only told it to her a handful of times! She was so proud of herself, and I am so proud of her!

Right now I am doing all the paperwork for the girls, opening the bank account, and trying to recruit within the school. Our first meeting is on Sept 27th. I think I might be almost as excited as Elizabeth, I think this will be fun, as well as educational for me and the girls. I also managed to snag an assistant leader, so that is a relief.

Me

Ok, so I dyed my hair (again) and I needed a photo for something, and since I am not too upset with how the picture came out, here it is. :-) I am trying to lose weight again, so hopefully in a couple months I can update it with a better (read thinner lol) photo. I am actually borrowing an elliptical machine from my friend Nikki to see if I actually use it to exercise or as a clothes rack :-) I'll be cramming it in the bedroom, but we have a TV in there, so I can exercise and watch Buffy. I think I will use it. Now I just have to get it from her house to here somehow......

First day of Kindergarten!

Ok, So now Elizabeth is officially a kindergartener, Yipes! My little girl is growing up! We got her into a really great Montessori Charter school, and one of the great things about it, is that some of her friends from preschool are there as well, in fact about a third of the class are from her preschool, Elizabeth was thrilled. Since it is a charter school, she wears uniforms, but she thinks that is great, it means she is a kindergartener. Of course in a couple years when she realizes other kids get to wear what they want to school it may be a problem. :-)

I have to put in 40 hours of service to the school, but it is a free school, so I will take the hours. :-) Along with writing and reading etc, she will be learning Spanish on the Rosetta Stone software in the classroom. We had the choice between that and French or Chinese, but we figured she would use the spanish the most.

Here's a llama.....

One really cool thing about the fair was that they had a petting zoo. I have never seen a petting zoo with wallabies and deer before, but there they were!

State Fair

So we went to the state fair with David's company, ACM. It was pretty cool, we ended up with free tickets in, $40 in ride tickets and we won the grand prize raffle of a Video Ipod! That was especially cool, because a Video Ipod is one of those things that we really want, but would never actually buy. :-) We had a ton of fun at the fair, we saw exibits, rode on several rides, and ate food that was really bad for us lol. They had an awesome rainforest exibit, I think that was one of my favorites.

Summer investiture

So we went to SCA last weekend, and even though it was too hot and too dusty, we still had fun. Elizabeth especially had fun, she is old enough for page school now, and she went and made a hobby horse, and she had a ton of fun boffering with the kids. They were gentle with her, but she still took some blows and was brave about it. She had a blast. She also liked the new overdress I made her, it was a dark pink, though it looks red in the photo....

This is a photo of Elizabeth from June 2006, I was working so David took Elizabeth to Fairytale town for the fairy ice cream festival. This is her in her little fairy dress.

It has been a while since I posted, I think I need to try again to keep my blog up, post at least once a week.... I was very busy the last 6 weeks, I took two accelerated classes over the summer. I am working on my AA in Business. I managed to get a 91% in both classes, so I am pretty happy. I get 4 weeks off, then it is back to school. :-)

preschool!

Ok so I spent a couple weeks searching through preschool ads, then calling preschools, then actually going and looking at some. I looked at 5, 1 really scary one, three so so one, and one great one. Elk Grove Montessori. David took a morning off and we all went to observe and decided on that one. She wasn't going to start until June, when i go back to school, but we decided that we would like it if she could go 2 days a week to start so she could get used to it (she will be going 5 days a week 8:30-12:30 starting june). We talked to them at the school and they said that that would most likely not happen as they were full, but a space came open and Elizabeth started school last tuesday. She was SO excited, we got her a lunch bag, a back pack and a new dress for her first day. She really enjoyed her first day, and was totally fine when I left her that morning.

Elizabeth has grown since I posted regularly, she is nearly 3 and a half and getting to be a real little girl, rather then a toddler. I love this photo I took of her a week or so ago.

ok, back to this blogging thing....

Ok, so I fell off the Blogging wagon, but I am going to try and climb back on :-) I think I will be posting more on my art page at least, I now have a new job at the scrapbook store, teaching classes! I am teaching a kids class, a school days page, serendipity squares, and a color 101/color blocking class starting March 8th it looks like. I'm excited. My partylite has sort of crashed, I have no parties on the books, which is a bummer, it is decent money for not much work.

Today we went out and saw Curious George with Elizabeth, a very cute little movie, not your normal kids film anymore, there were no jokes that are supposed to go over the kids heads or inuindos of any kind, just a sweet little kids movie. Elizabeth especially enjoyed the popcorn. :-P

We got absolutely nothing accomplished around here, but we had a nice weekend. :-) We got our income tax checks, and I am trying very hard to do sensable things with it rather then blow it on candy or toys :-D I did pay off our credit cards, so that is cool.
